Fun way to learn bird calls
Available in French and English, Birdlingo is a free-to-play educational game that introduces players to different types of birds and their calls. There are six habitats to explore — Farmland, Garden, Grassland, Public Park, Seaside, and Woodland. All of these habitats feature up to five various birds each.
Memorize and recognize birdsong
When you click on a habitat in Birdlingo, sets of questions will appear. Sometimes the game will give you detailed information about the birds in the choices, sometimes it will only show pictures. The goal is the same, though — you need to identify which bird is making the call you’re hearing.
As you pass each quiz with flying colors, you’ll be able to collect birds for your virtual reserve. Hints are also available if you get stuck on some birds. However, there are only 44 birds to guess, and the selection can get boring for users who may want more.
Perfect for bird enthusiasts
If you’re interested in bird-watching but can’t find the time to do so, then a game such as Birdlingo can be a quick fix for now. It houses a variety of birds and their calls, allowing you to memorize and recognize birdsong as you hear them.
